Our competitive hourly rate ranges from $19.25-$20.45/hour depending on experience and education. Responsibilities:
- Strives to promote person-valued outcomes of independence, inclusion, individualization and productivity.
- Assists with the interviewing of Program Aide applicants and makes recommendations for hiring as needed. Maintains oversight of Program Aides as assigned, notifies Manager of performance concerns, completes corrective action, performance appraisals, etc.
- Ensures the orientation and ongoing training of all assigned staff is conducted and documented in the staff training record.
- Trains and ensures that staff review and understand each person’s Program Plan (e.g., transfers, activities of daily living, independent living skills, diagnoses, and behavioral support plans) and that staff adhere to Core Competencies.
- Trains and ensures all staff review and understand each person’s Plan of Care (e.g., transfers, independent living skills, personal hygiene, personal support plans); ensures staff record progress or lack of progress thoroughly and appropriately, and that each employee has the training needed to carry out each person’s Plan of Care.
- Keeps the Day Habilitation Manager informed of concerns with the day-to-day operations of the group area. Meets at least monthly with the Day Habilitation Manager and other supervisors to discuss and address programmatic and staffing issues.
- Supervises the use of petty cash, and ensures purchases are made in accordance with established policies and procedures and are within purchase order amounts. Assures the proper receipt of goods in accordance with Agency standards and policies.
- Reviews and approves assigned staff’s time sheets and PTO requests, ensuring compliance with Agency and DOL standards.
- Adheres to agency standard of ethical behavior as outlined in the Corporate Compliance Program, the Code of Business Conduct and associated policies and guidelines, and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Performs such other duties as assigned by the Day Habilitation Manager.
- Adheres to the Personnel Policy established by the Board of Directors and the Policies & Procedures established by the Executive Director.
Skills/Qualifications required for this position:
- Possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to agency insurance carrier, and completion of Agency driver training program, as position requires.
- Associate’s degree in Education or Human Services field preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- One or more years' experience working with the developmentally disabled.
- Supervisory experience preferred, but must have demonstrated leadership capabilities and work experience.
- Demonstrate willingness and ability to respond to the demands of a behavioral situation, as appropriate, based on group area(s) assignment.
- Physical ability to be on feet all day and perform the lifting and care of individuals within the assigned group area(s).
